New West Bloomfield’s crosswalk signals, local animal rescue organization, mobile food truck ordinance and more on today’s episode of “The Splash Live!” Hosted by Kevin McIntosh.
This morning, The Splash LIVE’s Dave Scott joins the show to discuss the energy and story of the Orchard Lake St. Mary’s boys basketball victory over West Bloomfield. Dave interviews Orchard Lake St. Mary’s coach, Todd Covert, to get his immediate reaction to the win as they continue their postseason run to the state finals, and learns about the rivalry from a man with West Bloomfield and St. Mary’s connections!
Additionally, Kevin McIntosh invites West Bloomfield Parks Superintendent, Chris Frey to tell us about the new HAWK Crosswalk signals and how they work. Chris mentions the current locations of the new crosswalks and any future plans for new public safety, and Kevin inquires about what makes the HAWK crosswalk different from the traditional crosswalks.
Then, Terri Rausch from Almost Home Animal Rescue speaks to Kevin McIntosh about the non-profit organization here in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Almost Home is one of the first No Kill animal rescues in Michigan that rescues, cares for and finds foster homes for local dogs and cats. Terri mentions the many ways to help, whether you decide to foster, adopt or not.
Finally, Kevin McIntosh has a discussion with the catering and mobile food truck manager for The Great Greek, Carrie, Mabery from West Bloomfield. The West Bloomfield Township Board meeting tonight will vote on whether or not to waive certain fees for mobile food trucks to operate. Carrie talks about how the performance bond waiving can help businesses as she welcomes competition.
